He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Franklin Payne and Thelma Arlene Reid Payne; and his great-nephew Tuff Alexander Johnson. He is survived by: his siblings, Shirley Carpenter (Greg), Judy Payne, Pamela Johnson (David), Jerry Payne (Libby) and Ronnie Payne (Wanda). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Community Church (280 O'Neal Rd, Mt Airy, NC 27030).
