He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Bruns and Mary Margaret Tracy Vaughan; his grandson Benny Vaughan; and his brothers, Maurice B. Vaughan, Jr. and Mickey Vaughan.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Smith Vaughan; his sons, Wesley Vaughan (Jolene) of China Grove and Scott Vaughan (Niki) of Oakboro; and his stepdaughter Shana Bare (Scott) of Creedmoor. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
