He was predeceased by: his parents, Lacy Oscar and Katie McClendon Thompson; his son David Ray Thompson; and his grandson Dawson Bryan Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Mary Lowder Thompson; his sons, Mark Allen Thompson (Crystal) of Norwood and Matthew Bryan Thompson (Hope) of Mt. Gilead; and his sister Joyce Sedberry (Jerry) of Mt. Gilead. He is also survived by five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.
