He was predeceased by: his parents, Jess Gardner and Mary Ussery Gardner; his great grandchild Ariyah Marie; and his son Kenny Westmoreland. He is survived by: his wife Karen Smith Gardner; his children, Starla Eldridge (Ray Eldridge), Tasha Taylor (Michael Taylor) and Dale LeGrand (Dana LeGrand); his grandchildren, Timothy, Aaron Westmoreland, Jacob, Eric LeGrand (Lakelyn), Mackenzie (Marcus Sanders), Payton, Anthony and Gracie Taylor; and his great grandchildren, Callahan, Millie and Isaiah Sanders. He is also survived by many brothers, sisters and in-laws.
