He was predeceased by: his parents, George Edgar Tate and Virginia Pruitt Tate; and his siblings, Glenda Tate, Betty Looman, Virgil Tate, James Tate and Billy Tate.
He is survived by: his siblings, Margaret McQueen, Judy Benton, Barbara Jordan and Jackie "Jack" Tate. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
