He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn Lowe Caldwell; his son Barry Caldwell; his siblings, Don Caldwell, Leona Ingle, Georgia Sue Woodward and Lucille Caldwell; and his son-in-law Butch Eldridge.
He is survived by: his children, Rhonda Caldwell Eldridge Cagle (Gary "Steve) and George Thomas Caldwell; his nephew Doug Gladden (Margaret); his granddaughters, Denise Eldridge Mullis (Dan), Jerri Johnson (Dink) and Jenny Dowdle (Mike); and his great grandchildren, Andrew Mullis, Hannah Mullis, Caitlynn Johnson (Brandon) of Aaron Johnson, C. J, Wall and Rebecca Shae (Elisha).
