He was predeceased by: his parents, Dempsey Moore Carpenter and Violet Ray Carpenter; and his son Jonathan Lee Carpenter. He is survived by: his wife Kay Laughlin Carpenter; his sons, Brian Carpenter (Jennifer) and Brent Carpenter (Lyssa); his sister Debbie Crisp (Michael); and his grandchildren, Garrison Carpenter, Gavin Carpenter, Owen Carpenter and Kaylee Carpenter.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Woodlawn Chapel (375 Woodlawn Ave, Mt Holly, NC 28120). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at the Hillcrest Cemetery (1508 Charles Raper Jonas Hwy, Mt Holly, NC 28120).
