He was predeceased by: his parents, James Omer and Nadine Painter Ballard; and his siblings, James Ballard, Phyllis Warnock and Reba Drye.
He is survived by: his close friend Clarice Carter of Forest, Virginia; and his siblings, David L. Ballard of Charlotte, NC and Delores Gill of Freeburg. He is also survived by three children; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
