Sarah leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Sarah’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Sarah will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John F. Kirby and Lillian B. Kirby; and her husband William L. Helton, Jr.. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, wonderful neighbors, and lifelong friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Robin Johnson Hospice House, 5005 Shepherds Way, Dallas, NC 28034, First United Methodist Church at Common Ground, 5481 Hickory Grove Road, Stanley, NC 28164, or Least of these Carolinas, 1000 South Myrtle School Road, Gastonia, NC 28052 (to benefit children in Gaston County).
