He was predeceased by: his mother Virginia Rodden; his wife Patricia Bowers Rodden; his brother Lindsay Alan Rodden; and his sister-in-law Suzanne Rodden. He is survived by: his father Thomas Aaron; his children, Thomas Wendell Rodden, Jr. (Lisa) and Peggy Rodden Mathis (Steven); his granddaughter Allison Mathis; his siblings, Susan Rodden Miller (Eddie), Julie Rodden, Mike Rodden, Kim Rodden, David Rodden and Brian Rodden; and his sister-in-law Elizabeth Rodden. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
