With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Charles S. Hunter Sr. (Mount Olive, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 15, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Will Hunter Jr. and Cora Kornegay Hunter; and his siblings, Burnell Worthy, Eldress Louise Lee, Lemuel Hunter, Johnny Hunter and Woody Hunter.
He is survived by: his son Charles Hunter Jr.; his daughter-in-law April; his daughter Kimberly Hunter Bryant; his son-in-law Giddeon; and his brother Dennis Hunter.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Garris Funeral Home (812 SW Center St, Mt Olive, NC 28365). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Winn Chapel Baptist Church (110 Smith St, Mt Olive, NC 28365). A burial was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Eastern Carolina Veterans Cemetery (164 Longs Plant Farm Rd, Goldsboro, NC 27534).
