She was predeceased by: her parents, Rob Whitman and Ethel Whitman; her husbands, Jesse Ray Davis, William Hardy and Andy Mendiola; her fiancé Earl Garris; her brothers, Ernest Whitman and Robert Whitman, Jr.; and her sister-in-law Ernestine Whitman.
She is survived by: her daughter Kathy; her son-in-law Timmy Jones of Dover; her son Jimmy; her daughter-in-law Kathie Davis of Kinston; her brother Jerry; her sisters-in-law, Dixie Whitman of Brunswick, Georgia and Bertie Faye Whitman of Mount Olive; her grandchildren, Steven Wayne Jones of Dover, Shannon Nicole Deaver (Jerry) of Kinston and April Michele Davis of New York; and her great grandchildren, Ethan Gabriel Lane of Kinston and Taylor McKenzie Lane of Kinston. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
