He is survived by: his sons, James Timothy "Jamie" (Lisa Bennett) and William Edward "Eddie" (Roxie Bennett); his grandchildren, Robert Bennett (Emily) of Marietta, Amber Smith of Mount Olive and Cody Bennett of Indiana; his great grandchildren, Stella Smith and Oliver Eages of Marietta; and his siblings, John H. Bennett, Jr. of Clinton, Bobby Bennett of Fayetteville, Sarah B. Pope of Clinton and Joyce B. Jones of Mount Olive. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
