With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jimmie Edward Best of Mount Olive, North Carolina, born in Wayne County, North Carolina, who passed away on April 14, 2024 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Ralph Best and Agnes Best Rogers (Westbrook); and his daughter Tracy Best. He is survived by : his wife Barbara Best; his daughter Wendy Smith (Jeff) of Pikeville; his siblings, Johnnie Best (Lee Ann) of Goldsboro, Danny Best (Vickie) of Rosewood, Michael Best of Greenville and Patricia Gonsalves (Leon) of Hawaii; his grandsons, Logan Flowers, Jeffrey Smith (Kendra) and Nicholas Smith; his great grandchildren, Aydan Smith and Clayton Smith; his pet Scrappy; and his caregivers, Marthea Moore, Marie Jackson and Dr. Kasbari.

A graveside service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery (164 Longs Plant Farm Rd, Goldsboro, NC 27534).
