He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Brown Sutton and Mary Marie Cox Sutton; his son Kevin Sterling Sutton; his brother John Brown Sutton; his grandparents, Janie Odom Sutton, John Brown Sutton, Agnes Wolf Cox and Kirby Cox; and his uncle Nathaniel Cox.
He is survived by: his brother JB; his wife Marie Ann Hair Sutton; his daughter Ann Marie Johnson; and his grandchildren, Stacey Holmes (Blake), Greg Johnson, Harmony Edwards and Charisma Walker. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
