He was predeceased by: his parents, Rommie Mercer and Hazel Burkett Mercer; and his brothers, Randy Mercer and Tommy Mercer. He is survived by: his wife Luz Mercer; his aunt Sheila Burkett of Kinston; his niece Emilee Mercer Rouse (Jeremy Rouse); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Emma and Jordan Rouse; and his sister-in-law Dawn Waters Mercer.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Long Ridge Free Will Baptist Church (1468 Tram Rd, Mt Olive, NC 28365).
