He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin D. Swaringen and Mary Frances McEachern Swaringen; and his siblings, Ben Swaringen, George David Swaringen and Linda Swaringen Courts.
He is survived by: his daughters, Francie Swaringen of Mount Pleasant and Susanna Swaringen Shiels (Kevin) of Myrtle Beach; his grandchildren, Hannan, Sawyer and Salem; and his siblings, Frances Brown, Carolyn Rauch, Maxine Mast, Becky Barringer and David Swaringen. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and many dear friends.
Memorials may be made to the North Carolina State Veterans Home, Salisbury, in appreciation of the outstanding care and compassion shown to Burr throughout his stay.
