With profound sadness, we say goodbye to David Emory Harkey of Mount Pleasant, North Carolina, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. David left this world on October 17, 2025 at the age of 85, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Catherine Smith Harkey; and his siblings, John Henry Harkey (Louise), Paul Charles Harkey (Rose) and Mary Jane Harkey Casper (Bob). He is survived by: his father Lex Henry Harkey; his wife Judy Allen Burris Harkey; his children, Cathy Lane Harkey Credle, Emory Allen Harkey and Brian David Harkey (Deana); his grandchildren, Kristin Lane Martin (Kyle), Spencer Lawson Credle (Ashley) and Nathan Alexander Harkey (Eve); his great grandchildren, Nora Ann Credle, Baylee Lane Credle and Brooks Alexander Martin; and his sister Rachel Harkey Seaford (Ken).
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church (9400 Gold Hill Rd, Mt Pleasant, NC 28124). A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church Cemetery (9400 Gold Hill Rd, Mt Pleasant, NC 28124).
