“Chuck had a diverse career, starting at the shipyard before transitioning into construction. Many will remember him from Basnight Construction. Later, he ventured into building solar farms and eventually concluded his work life on a farm in Currituck County. Upon retirement due to illness, Chuck enjoyed five years of relaxation, indulging in his passion for music. Chuck had a unique charm that could always bring a smile to anyone's face.”

Chuck was born on February 5, 1957, in Columbia, North Carolina, to his late parents Hazel Mae Payne and Clifton Sarvis. He is survived by his loving wife Pamela Sarvis, daughters Rena Sarvis (and her late husband Joshua Jones), Laci and Cody Smith, and grandchildren Mackenzie Jones, Callab, and Sylias Smith.”
