He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Leonard Grier and Marjorie Ann Gray Grier. He is survived by: his wife Aileen Rose Johnson Grier; his children, Lindsey M. Glenn (William) of Norfolk, VA and Kenneth D. Grier, Jr. (Stacey) of Loudoun County, VA; his siblings, Mary E. Riggs (Lawrence) of Southern Shores, NC, Lindwood T. Grier (Linda) of Fredericksburg, VA and Gerald D. Grier (Teresa) of Virginia Beach, VA; his grandchildren, Stephanie, Leighton and Reese; and his uncle Eurith D. Grier (Donna). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Albemarle Hospice, 1129 Horseshoe Road, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
