With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Barbara Morgan Akers of Murphy, North Carolina, born in Waynesboro, Tennessee, who passed away on November 2, 2022 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph B. Morgan and Lela Martin Morgan; her sister Bonnie St. Amant (John); her stepbrothers, Ray and Jim Crane; and her nephew Steve Crane.

She is survived by: her husband Jim Akers; her siblings-in-law, Howard Akers (Maxine) of Charlotte, Mary Crane of Crossville and Becky Crane of Taylor, Michigan; and her nieces and nephews, Jimi Crane, Jeffery Kapuscinski, Keith Akers, Scott Akers, Deneen Akers, Lori Crane Taylor, Kelly Crane Holt and Lisa Crane Nuss. She is also survived by several great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
