He was predeceased by: his mother Maude Carringer Moore; his daughter Brenda Suzanne Carringer Campbell; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Diane Campbell and Brandon Campbell; and his sister Glenda Sue Brooks.

He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, Debby Carringer Tant of Marble, NC and Billy Carringer (Pam) of Andrews, NC; his grandchildren, Ricky Reece (Misty) of Marble, NC, Daniel Smith (Kammi) of Robbinsville, NC, Dakotah Carringer of Andrews and Lacyn Miller of Marble, NC; his great grandchildren, Austin Reece (Cheyenne) of Hayesville, NC, Kolbie Smith, Bradyn Smith and Rynleigh Smith of Robbinsville, NC; and his sister Kay Bryson of Murphy, NC. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
