She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Loudermilk and Alma Hughes Loudermilk; her husband J. T. Gilbert; her sons, Dennis "J. T." Gilbert and Kenneth Dale Gilbert; her grandchildren, Dennis "Dee" Gilbert and Christina Gilbert; her great grandchildren, Natalie Passmore and Nicole Passmore; her son-in-law James Allen Passmore; and her siblings, Geneva Moyers, Virginia Ballew, Glenn, Willis and Winston Loudermilk.
She is survived by: her daughter Teresa; her son-in-law Michael Carter of Blairsville, One; her son Richard Gilbert of Peachtree, NC.; her daughter-in-law Lucy Jackson of Hiawassee; her sister Juanita Sherlin of Hayesville; and her grandchildren, James, Jeremiah, Joshua, Nathaniel, Caleb Passmore, Celestine Pandolph, Holly, Ricky, Sage Gilbert and Samantha Smith. She is also survived by twenty three great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
