It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Matthew Roach of Murphy, North Carolina, who passed away on July 27, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the vast expanse of eternity, may David Matthew find peace everlasting, cradled in the gentle embrace of the universe. And as we stand on the shores of remembrance, may his legacy inspire us to live each day with purpose, passion, and profound gratitude for the gift of life itself.
He was predeceased by: his mother Juanita Roach of Hayesville, NC; his brother Garland Russell Roach of Monticello, GA; and his grandson Matthew Laney. He is survived by: his daughters, Tammy Roach Marcus (Keith Marcus) of Murphy and Angie Roach Dockery (Scott Dockery) of Murphy; his grandchildren, Zachary Laney, Seth Laney, Corey Marcus and Whitney Marcus-Eller (Korey Eller); and his great grandchild Shelby Rae Eller.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Fires Creek Baptist Church (73 Hiawassee St, Hayesville, NC 28904). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
