She was predeceased by: her parents, Edger Tafton and Essie Lorene Finuff Bush; and her sisters, Marie Miller and Lorene Coomer. She is survived by: her children, Steve Hamby of Murphy, NC, Martin Hamby (Teresa) of Murphy, NC and Jan Dockery (Tim) of Murphy, NC; and her granddaughters, Renee, Jennifer, Nanette, Amy, Sarah and Stephanie. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home (138 Peachtree St, Murphy, NC 28906). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel (138 Peachtree St, Murphy, NC 28906).
