He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elizabeth Peeler of Columbus, GA and William Peeler; his sister Reba Peeler; his wife Cheryl Peeler; his children, John Peeler, Jr. of Arizona, Shane Perry of Dalton, GA, Jaiden Peeler, Christian Peeler, Derrick Peeler, Rebecca Hampton of Florida, Janie Reaves of Dalton, GA and Jasmine Hampton; and his brothers, Glen Peeler and Wayne Peeler of Columbus, GA. He was also cherished by six grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
