With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Joyce Johnson of Murphy, North Carolina, born in Hiawassee, Georgia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Joyce leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Joyce may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jay D Nicholson and Novalee McClure Nicholson; and her spouse Pearl Jackson Johnson. She is survived by: her son Shawn Johnson (Penny) of Murphy; her grandson Will Johnson; and her siblings, Connie Marshall (Steve) of Young Harris, Georgia and Hugh Nicholson. She is also survived by several nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ivie Funeral Home (194 Peachtree St, Murphy, NC 28906). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
