It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kathy Sue Rhodes of Murphy, North Carolina, who passed away on December 25, 2023, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Martha Jane Patterson Rhodes and Paul Ronnie Rhodes, Sr.; her brother Paul Ronnie Rhodes, Jr.; her nephew Derick Randal Canup; and her son-in-law Travis Wayne Pugh.
She is survived by: her daughter Chrystal Dawn Rhodes Pugh of Murphy; her grandchildren, Terry Smith (Josh Bailey) of Robbinsville, N. C., James Smith, Sr. (Christie Knowles) of Hayesville and Amber Pugh of Murphy; her great grandchildren, Lizzy Knowles, James Smith, Jr. and Oaklynn Smith of Hayesville; and her siblings, Ricky Patterson (Joyce) of Hayesville, Terry Rhodes of Alabama, Donna Canup (Randy) of Hayesville, David Rhodes (Tracey) of Austin, Texas, Kim Berrong (Bill) of Hiawassee and Ann Ferguson (Larry) of Hayesville.
