He is survived by: his wife Ann Johnson Lance of Murphy; his son Brad Lance (Angela) of Murphy; his grandson Connor Bradley Lance of Murphy; his sister Mary Ann Lance Sneed of Asheville; and his sibling's children, Susan Alderman and Doug Sneed.
