She was predeceased by : her parents, Rosssher Cornwell and Carmen Betty Hembree Cornwell; her son Derick Ross Garrett; and her siblings, Margaret Ann Adams, Betty Jones and Bill Cornwell.

She is survived by : her sons, Travis Garrett of Murphy and Joseph Wesley Garrett (Shannon Maney) of Murphy; her sister Theresa Duffie of Hayesville; her grandchildren, Christian Blake Silvers of Robbinsville and Rylan Garrett of Robbinsville; her cousin Jane Fain Matthews (Donny) of Cottage Grove, OR; and her close friend Jeremy Swanson (Renaee) of Murphy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
