With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard F. Hummel Jr. of Murphy, North Carolina, born in Des Moines, Iowa, who passed away on November 22, 2023 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Richard F. Sr. Hummel and Randi Berge Hummel; and his sister Denise Christman. He is survived by : his wife Janice Hummel of Murphy; his son Michael Hummel (Kathy); his grandchildren, Bryce of Jupiter, Florida and Kara Hummel of Jupiter, Florida; and his sister Nancy Mahoney (Dennis). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
