He was predeceased by : his parents, William "W. C." Cleveland and Martha Jane Ryder Swanson; his son Greg Swanson; and his siblings, Harvey, Wendall, Bill Swanson, Dot Summitt, Susie Underwood, Ellavee Belue and Ruth Fowler.
He is survived by : his wife Elizabeth Ledford Swanson; his children, Jeremy Swanson (Renee) of Murphy, Mike Swanson (Annette) of Lenoir, NC, Mark Swanson (Rachel) of Charlotte, NC, Leesa Panter (Ricky) of Murphy, Christy Taylor of Murphy and Kitty Taylor (Greg Abernathy) of Blue Ridge, GA; and his siblings, Verlin Swanson (Nyoka) of Inman, SC, Kenneth Swanson of Murphy, Emma Tanner (Junior) of Murphy and Jane Tanner of Murphy. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
