He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward "Ed" Burleson and Zola Belle Burleson; and his brother Frank Burleson. He is survived by: his wife Linda Woody Burleson; his children, Roger Burleson (Bridgette) of Drexel, David Burleson (Angela) of Nebo, Jason Woody (Melinda) of Nebo, Eric Burleson (Jessica) of Nebo, Chad Woody (Jessica) of Nebo, Adrian Burleson of Nebo, Marcus Burleson of Nebo, Desiray Burleson of Nebo and Destiny Burleson; and his sister Pauline Riddle of Spruce Pine. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
