He was predeceased by: his parents, John Burkes and Rosa Nell Rogers Logan; and his siblings, Tyrone Logan, Billy Logan, Rod Logan and Reatha Logan.
He is survived by: his son James David Rogers, Jr.; and his siblings, Loretta Louise Rogers Gills, Regina Lucille Logan, Latricia Denise Logan Potts, Gene Lewis Logan and Samuel Lynn Logan. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
