She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Robert McKinney and Grace Collis McKinney; her husband James Fraye Sexton; her daughter Nancy Sanders; and her siblings, Robert Lawrence McKinney, Guy McKinney, Ralph McKinney, Jerry McKinney, Nina Bowman and Mildred Guthrie.
She is survived by: her children, Sonya LaVonne Emery (Charles Emery), Allen Sexton and Grace Rebecca McKinney; her granddaughter Jessie Nichole Emery Massey (Michael Shayne Massey); her great grandchild Emma Grace; her granddaughter Marcie Emery-Campbell (Daniel); her great grandchildren, Mattie and Liam; her sister Nancy Hicks; and her nephew Calvin McKinney (Brenda).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Beam Funeral Service & Crematory (2170 Rutherford Rd, Marion, NC 28752).
