He is survived by: his wife Diane Edwards McKinney; his children, Malissa Russell, Melinda Courtney (Bobby) and Steven McKinney (Alice); his grandchildren, Zack, Lollie, Josh, Ricky, Mikey and Johnathon; his great grandchildren, Layden, Jaythan, Ella, Kenzie, Layla and Isaac; his great great grandchild River; and his brother Jim McKinney. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Beam Funeral Service & Crematory (2170 Rutherford Rd, Marion, NC 28752). A funeral service was held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at the Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery (845 S Creek Rd, Nebo, NC 28761).
