She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Arthur Murphy and Lorraine Henrietta Cooper; and her grandson Jack Potter. She is survived by: her children, Jason Potter (Stephanie) and Jamie Potter; her grandsons, Luke Potter and Blake Potter; her sisters, Margaret Spears (Joseph), Linda Cole (Clifford) and Marcia Murphy; and her siblings' children, Ann Spears and Chad Cole.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cotten Funeral Home & Crematory (2201 Neuse Blvd, New Bern, NC 28560). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery (110 Montford Landing Rd, Jacksonville, NC 28540).
