With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charity Marie Avery Maynard (New Bern, North Carolina), who passed away on January 9, 2026 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Norman Avery and Beatrice Elizabeth Wilson Avery; her daughter Leia Lewis; and her siblings, Bett, Nancy, Louise and Ronnie.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Maynard; her daughters, Wendy Ransier (Michael Yezarski), Brandi Golojuch (Roberto Velasquez) and Sabrina Sadler; her grandchildren, Briana Ransier, Kayla Savage, Madison Golojuch, Garret Golojuch and Carson Williamson; her brothers, Buddy, Samuel, Pete and Mark; and her pet Gigi. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
