She was predeceased by: her parents, George M. Dangler and Juanita Welch Dangler; her husband Willard D. Hess; and her son Lance M. Hess. She is survived by: her daughter Claire H. Davis (Kenny) of Stow Creek; her grandchildren, Jason W. Hess, Amber E. Forsman (Josh), Nathan M. Long, Katie and Noah D. Hess; and her great grandchildren, Hayes Rodman, Willow Rodman, Charles Paul Coco, Holley Forsman and Sydney Long.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to either the American Cancer Society or Craven County Master Gardeners Volunteer Association, 300 Industrial Drive, New Bern, NC 28562.
