He was predeceased by: his parents, George Lock and Margaret Lock; and his brother George Lock (Diane). He is survived by: his wife Heide Lock; his children, Evan Lock (Kristen) and Diana Pham (Brian); his grandchildren, Addison Lock, Brennan Lock, Ava Pham and Lula Pham; and his brother Donald Lock (Dorothy). He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and their children, and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Gene's honor to the New Bern Historical Society for the New Bern Battlefield.
