He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Ward and Lorna Morrison; and his siblings, Madeline Bonesteel, Debbie Leary, Maria Peele, Larry, Walter and Wayne Ward.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Ward of New Bern; his son Leonard Ward; his granddaughters, Emily Gudinas, Kayla Ward, Amber Ward and Savannah Bell of Morehead City; Malea Cochrane of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Jeanette Bell (Bobby Bell).
He received numerous awards and declarations for his exceptional contribution to our nation's defense.
