We are sad to announce that, on December 17, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Jean Clare Whitman of New Bern, North Carolina. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Clare Powell (Mitchell) and Jesse J. Powell; and her son Griffith. She is survived by: her children, Lee Dalton (David), Carol Vieregge of New Bern and Matthew Whitman (Veronica); and her grandchildren, Andrea Whitman, Stephanie Stone, Jesse Whitman, Sarah Vieregge, Mary Vieregge and Caroline Vieregge. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.
