He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Riggs and Helen Riggs; and his wife Joyce Riggs. He is survived by: his sons, Griffin Riggs (Lori) and Michael Riggs (Sarah); his grandsons, Landis, Easton and Anderson Riggs; and his siblings, Douglas Riggs, Gregory Riggs (Deborah), Randall Riggs (Kim) and Pattie Smith. He is also survived by many loving family members and close friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cotten Funeral Home & Crematory (2201 Neuse Blvd, New Bern, NC 28560). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
