Mary Toler Obituary

It is with sadness that the passing of Mary Toler (New Bern, North Carolina) is shared. Mary, born on September 8, 1938, passed away on September 11, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Sherwood B. Norris, Sr. and Laura Josephine Shute Norris; and her siblings, Shirley Straker, Sherwood "Butler" Norris, Jr., Sarah Norris Cahoon, William "Billy" Norris, Harvey "Shute" Norris, George David Norris, Edward Lee Norris, Robert "Bobby" Norris and Donald Ray Norris.

She is survived by: her children, Eugene Toler, Sr., Mary Toler Haddock (Timmy), John Toler and Elizabeth Hartley (David); her grandchildren, Lisa Van Hoever (Scott), Andrea Joyner (Brandon) and Lauren Richie (Jason); and her great grandchildren, Hannah Joyner, Lochlan Van Hoever and Amoky Van Hoever.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Cedar Grove Cemetery (808 George St, New Bern, NC 28560).

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport in Mary's memory.
