Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Miriam for her warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. She is survived by: her children, Paul Kenan Wood and Susan Wood Heiman (Michael); her grandchildren, Peter Heiman III (Kate), Taylor Heiman (Kristine) and Jordan Wood (Summer); and her great grandchildren, Caroline, Michael, Charlotte and Parker.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of New Bern (239 Middle St, New Bern, NC 28560). A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
