He was predeceased by: his parents, James Jones and Virginia Jones; his parents-in-law, Irvin and Flora Garner; his siblings, Harry Jones, Ruby Jones, Ruth Hardy, Ella Moon and Helen Luker; and his son-in-law Jim Brown.

He is survived by: his children, Deb Brown of Huntsville, AL, James Jones (Kelly) of Donalsonville, GA and Becky Collins (Dalton) of New Bern, NC; and his sister Modeana Hardin. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.
