It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sherry (Johnson) Jones of New Bern, North Carolina, who passed away on July 28, 2025, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Sherry may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver Johnson and Doris Johnson; and her sister Carol Corbett of Germantown, Maryland.. She is survived by: her husband Daniel Muncy Jones; her son Tyler McCall Jones (Lauren) of Charleston; her grandchildren, Afton and Addison; and her sister Gail Parrish (David) of Raleigh.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cotton Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (239 Middle St, New Bern, NC 28560).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Colonial Capital Humane Society.
