It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Theresa Ann Bates of New Bern, North Carolina, who passed away on June 4, 2025, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jackie Lord and Beverly Jones; her husband George Bates; her daughter Angela Bates; and her sisters, Rae Jeanne Adams and Susan Burge.
She is survived by: her son Matthew Bates (Maria); her grandchildren, Madeleine, Benjamin, Charlotte and Ashley Bates; her great grandchild Onnovus Bates; and her brother Richard Lord. She is also survived by many loving family members and close friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Foundation Life Fellowship (2827 Ashland Ave, New Bern, NC 28560).
