He was predeceased by: his parents, Coy Earl Buchanan Sr. and Frances Lillian Jones Buchanan; and his nephew Robbie Gunnoe. He is survived by: his son Chad Benfield; his grandson Silas; his siblings, Helen Aldridge (Charles) of Roan Mountain, TN, Sue Heaton of Roan Mountain, TN, Barbara Miller of Roan Mountain, TN and Timmy Buchanan (Lisa) of Jerry's Creek; his uncle Franklin Buchanan (Alveda); his aunt Joyce Catron of West Virginia; and his close friend Troy Beatti of Jerry's Creek. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Holcombe Brother's Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
