He was predeceased by: his parents, Plato Brown and Nell Virginia Mayberry Brown; his siblings, Scotty, Richard and Tammy Smith; his nephew Cory; and his parents-in-law, Hodge and Catherine Turbyfill.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Turbyfill Brown; his sons, Charlie (Tina), Kevin (Ann) and Jason Brown (Melissa); his grandchildren, LynnAnn (Ryan), Macie (Blake), Thomas, Emily (Drew), Quentin and Grayson; his great grandchildren, Willow, Peyton, Isaiah, Carson, Waylon, Case, Noah and Elijah; his sisters, Susie and Sharon; and his siblings-in-law, James Smith, David Turbyfill (Rethia) and Kathy Brown. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Cranberry Cemetery (5750 US-19E, Newland, NC 28657).
